Updated: Mar 23
HARRISBURG (MAR 20 2020) -- The Boro* has confirmed directly with the Pennsylvania Department of Health that the shutdown order does NOT apply to veterinary services or pet supply stores. These were also excluded from the Governor's prior "non-mandatory" shutdown. Whether by oversight or not, they were not included on the official list of businesses permitted to stay open and forced to close put out by the Governor after his mandatory shutdown order. According to an email to The Boro* from Nate Wardell, Press Secretary, Department of Health, pet supply retailers and veterinary services "are excluded from the Governor’s order."
