Two Pocono Mountain East Grads Among Bar Foundation Scholarship Recipients
STROUDSBURG – 2020 Pocono Mountain East High School graduates MIA EDMA and KIAYA JONES were among five local graduates awarded a total of $7,000 in scholarships by the Monroe County Bar Foundation.
Edma received a $1,500 scholarship from the Foundation and Jones was awarded the $1,000 prize in honor of Monroe County’s late President Judge Ronald E. Vican. Other recipients of $1,500 scholarships were Pleasant Valley’s Teagan Angell, East Stroudsburg South’s Kayla Clare, and Megan Hughes from Stroudsburg.
The awards are made each year by the Foundation to help local college bound graduates defray some of the costs of their education. Presenting the awards this year were Foundation board chair, attorney William Reaser, and Foundation treasurer, attorney Diane Dagger.
