The Boro* Going to Every Two Weeks this Fall, Other Changes Coming Up
MOUNT POCONO (MAY 17 2020) - Editor Tom Ford announced today that beginning in September of this year, The Boro* print edition will start publishing every two weeks. Until then, the monthly publications will be published the second Friday of each month.
Other changes include more than doubling the press run of the monthly paper. Originally planned for May, the increased press run will start as soon as Monroe County is moved to the "yellow" phase of Governor Wolf's phased-in plan to reopen Pennsylvania businesses. Ford said the delay was "because the bulk of the additional papers will be distributed at businesses closed or with restricted operations during the 'red' phase."
Also in September, coverage of official meetings will extend beyond Mount Pocono and include Coolbaugh and Tobyhanna Townships. "Our publication is very popular among people outside Mount Pocono, so coverage of those townships is a natural extension of what we do and where the interest lay."
The Boro* currently distributes 1,991 copies through Post Office delivery to every home, business, and post office box in Mount Pocono, 2,000 copies at Shop Rite in Mount Pocono, 500 copies at the UPS Store in Mount Pocono, and 500 copies at local hotels. Beginning with the May issue, and the return of Martz service to Mount Pocono, another 1,200 copies will be distributed at Martz. When the county enters the yellow phase and more distribution points re-open, the press run will increase to 10,500 copies and the paper will be distributed at several dozen additional points from Blakeslee to Paradise, and from Tannersville to Coolbaugh.
