Monroe County Recycling Centers Preparing to Reopen - With Some Major Changes
BLAKESLEE (MAY 19 2020) -- The Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Authority announced plans to reopen recycling centers once the county is authorized to enter the yellow phase of the state's coronavirus mitigation plan.
Residents will be required to register for a permit to use the facilities, select a facility and day of the week they will be using it. It is recommended that users register now, in order to obtain their permit and so that they will receive information on when their preferred recycling center will be reopened. At the facilities, all users are required to wear masks at the facilities, only one person at a bin, and if the bins are occupied, users must remain in their vehicles. The Authority has set out other policies and procedures users will be required to abide.
