Like Pizza? Clear Out Your Neighborhood Fire Hydrant!
COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP -- If you like pizza, the Coolbaugh Township Volunteer Fire Company wants to treat you to a pizza party this spring!
Supervisor Board Chair, and Fire Chief, Bill Weimer took time out from the supervisors meeting earlier this month to ask township residents to help out his volunteers by clearing snow from around their local fire hydrants. In the event of an emergency that could make the difference between saving your property, or life, or not. According to the US Fire Administration, a house fire can double in size every minute. The time you save responders by digging out the hydrant now would be crucial in an emergency.
To sweeten the pot, the fire company will host (an appropriately socially-distant) pizza party this spring for everyone who clears out a Coolbaugh Township hydrant and posts their pictures to the company's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CTVFC25.
Hydrants should be cleared to the street and for a perimeter of three feet around the plug.
