If You Have Canceled a Fundraiser Due to Coronavirus Concerns, We Want to Help

The head of the CDC has stated that the only way our nation can avoid a disastrous COVID-19 outbreak over the coming weeks is to, among other mitigation efforts, eliminate unnecessary gatherings of people. He emphasized that this is important even if there are no confirmed cases in a particular area. We would like to support those organizations which have canceled fundraising events, including events that are a mix of fundraising and other things, in recognition of the higher benefit to our community. So, if you or your organization have canceled such an event, send us your organizations name, website url, address, event information, and, if you have one, a link or paypal or other similar account, that people can use to make donations to your organization in lieu of attending the canceled event. We will post those on our (insanely popular) website and Facebook pages, and periodically send a list of them to our 700 (and counting) subscribers. This offer is open to Monroe County non-profits, membership organizations, government or quasi government agencies, support organizations, first responder organizations, veteran or other similar organizations, and even candidates for elected office. The qualifications are that the event must have been in the county, scheduled, and published on or before March 10, 2020, and that it has been announced as canceled for Coronavirus concerns. Send your information to our Editor, Tom Ford at tom@MountPoconoBoro.com.
